After falling into disrepair, the historic 1890s-built Shawmuir Lodge found itself on the Buildings at Risk Register.
The ornamental gate lodge sits near the entrance of Glasgow’s vast Pollok Park and was designed as a kind of architectural warm-up before visitors reached the Pollok House mansion. It was very much designed to be impressive. While originally built by the Maxwell family who owned the land privately, it now forms part of the landscape of the public Pollok Park.
Given its condition, the restoration of Shawmuir Lodge was a substantial project with many challenges along the way. Our specialist skills in this area enabled us to complete the work in five months. Shawmuir Lodge is now a Category B listed building.
