Recent Projects Supporting Local Communities

At Covanburn Contracts, our work is rooted in creating safe, functional and welcoming spaces for local communities. Our recent projects highlight that – from emergency structural repairs to the regeneration and restoration of valued public areas.

Here’s a look at some of our latest works.

Emergency Response at Haughhead Bridge

Covanburn Contracts were recently called out by South Lanarkshire Council following a bridge strike at Haughhead Bridge, which left both parapets significantly damaged. With the road fully closed, it was essential that repairs were carried out efficiently and safely to restore access for the local community.

Our team quickly mobilised, working collaboratively to make the area safe and ensure the bridge could be reopened as soon as possible.

This project reflects our ability to respond promptly to urgent situations, prioritising safety and helping to restore vital local routes.

Specialist Concrete Repairs at Hawes Piers, South Queensferry

Covanburn Contracts have recently completed restoration works at Hawes Piers in South Queensferry, focusing on essential concrete surface and deck repairs.

Scope of works:

Working in a marine environment brought its own set of challenges — from tidal programming and fast-curing materials to the need for biofuel-powered equipment to minimise environmental impact.

All works were carefully planned around tide times, cruise liner movements, and regular pier users to ensure safety and minimal disruption.

Honouring Remembrance at Strathaven Cenotaph

Oteam were truly honoured to play a small part in upgrading the stairs leading up to the Strathaven Cenotaph ahead of this year’s Remembrance Sunday service.

We:

These works ensure the path to this important memorial is safe and well-presented for the community to pay their respects.

The Strathaven Cenotaph commemorates the local men and women who gave their lives, or went missing, in World War I and World War II — a lasting reminder of the sacrifice made by so many.

Lest we forget.
