When Covanburn was appointed by South Lanarkshire Council to upgrade a derelict tennis court into a vibrant new multi-use area, we knew it was going be a significant, transformative landscaping project for the area.
After removing the old existing equipment, we installed a new, safe, multi-use court, skatepark and community seating area within Coalburn. This regeneration project created a new, safe, outdoor environment for children, young people and the local community to come together and enjoy.
We faced some challenges along the way. For example, due to the location of the works and surrounding nature, access was an issue. We created a temporary access road using plastic matting to protect the existing soft landscaping and paving slabs. This allowed large on-site vehicles to move safely without causing damage to the surrounding area.
We successfully navigated any challenges that appeared along the way and we delivered an exciting, diverse, multi-use area to be enjoyed for years to come.

Regeneration projects are very exciting to be a part of. They are absolutely transformative for communities by providing important spaces for play, fun and social and cultural events. It’s just a joy to involved in the creation of something brand new and to imagine the potential it has.
