The Brief

The five-tier French Renaissance-style Doulton Fountain is the largest remaining terracotta fountain in the world. It stands in front of the People’s Palace museum at Glasgow Green and it is a stunning monument. It measures around 46 feet high and 70 feet wide.

It was built to commemorate the 1887 Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria by the Royal Doulton Company and designed to showcase Victorian Britain’s achievements in science, art and industry.

The fountain requires substantial care and attention in order to maintain its functionality and appearance. We’ve conducted regular maintenance and repair works to it and it continues to be a popular attraction both for tourists and Glasgow locals enjoying leisure time in the park.

What We Loved About This Project

The Doulton Fountain is an iconic cultural sight in Glasgow and now holds the status of being the largest remaining terracotta fountain in the world. Maintaining the fountain to a high standard brings genuine joy and pride to Glaswegians and we love being a part of that effort.
