Requirements

A £3 million investment infrastructure improvement campaign was launched by Glasgow City Council (GCC) to enhance the city’s cycling network. 

This investment came as part of a larger project where the aim was to increase the provision of safe cycle routes, providing more secure cycle parking facilities, enhancing the city’s bus infrastructure, as well as traffic calming and minor road improvements aimed at accident reduction.

There were two main elements of this project:

  • The installation of cycle dropped kerbs with associated bollards and carriageway markings at various locations citywide
  • The installation of GCC supplied cycle stands at various locations citywide
