Requirements
A section of existing drainage adjacent to the West Coast Main Line at Eglinton Street in Glasgow had been damaged resulting in a partially blocked drain.
The damage was causing flooding of the adjacent track during periods of heavy rain.
Approach
Covanburn initially arranged for a vactor unit to clear out the drainage pipe after which a CCTV survey and trial digs were carried out to investigate the location and extent of the damaged pipe.
Due to the restricted access to site, all works had to be carried out by hand. The blockage was broken out and a new section of pipe inserted to allow free flowing of the water. The cess area was then fully reinstated.
