The works were necessary due to a severe saline intrusion problem which was having a significant effect on the local pumping station located in Portree, the scope of works included a number of full length liner installations (CIPP) together with a number of dig down repairs and the manhole rehabilitation of 11 no manholes of various dimensions, the works were successfully completed during February 2009 in a joint Insituform/Covanburn operation. On completion of the works tests confirmed that the saline intrusion was no longer an issue and the client deemed the project as a complete success.
